Sabai grass is a perennial grass found in abundance in parts of Odisha. The process of making a sabai grass product is labor-intensive and time-consuming. The grass is sun-dried, hand-twisted to create ropes and then rubbed against tree barks to remove rough edges. It is then braided or woven into eco-friendly offerings and hand painted with vibrant colors that are hard to miss!
