I’m so glad you’re here.
If you’re wondering who’s behind this blog—it’s me, Anu! Some of you may know me as Thilani, but let’s keep things simple—Anu it is.
I’m an Architect and Designer by profession, and a proud mom of three amazing boys, including a lively set of twins who keep life beautifully chaotic. I’m also lucky to have the most supportive husband by my side. Honestly, none of this would be possible without him, and I’m forever grateful for the love, strength, and support he brings into our lives—especially when he’s holding down the fort during my busiest days.
Our family calls Ottawa, Canada home, but our hearts are deeply rooted in Sri Lanka—our little tropical island in the Indian Ocean. So, you’ll see both tropical warmth and a touch of Canadian calm woven throughout my design aesthetic.
Design Do Studio is a dream turned reality. Since moving to Canada in 2014, I’ve always dreamed of building something of my own—something that would allow me to express my passion for design while spending more meaningful time with my children. And now, I’m excited to welcome you into this journey.
A little about my background—I’m a registered Architect in Sri Lanka with over 8 years of experience there, and I’ve spent the past 8 years working as an architectural and interior designer here in Ottawa.
Through this platform, I look forward to sharing thoughtful décor ideas, creative design solutions, and curated collaborations with some wonderful furniture and home décor brands—bringing inspiring pieces and fresh ideas into your home.
